Michael C. Smith is a three-time Olympic Decathlete who represented Canada in Seoul, Barcelona, and Atlanta before transitioning into a successful career as an investment banker and high-performance executive coach. Discovered at just 18 by Olympic coach Andy Higgins, he went on a 13-year Olympic journey defined by hard work, sacrifice, and determination. After retiring from competition in 1998 with a Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, Michael applied his Olympic-level discipline to the corporate world, where he now coaches executives to achieve peak performance in business. Known for his sharp analytical skills and ability to translate athletic principles into corporate success, he also serves as a television commentator for Olympic and World Championship track and field events. Passionate about giving back, Michael volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada and SHAD, continuing his lifelong commitment to excellence, mentorship, and inspiring others to win their own “gold medals” every day.
